Overview

The Categories section allows administrators to create, edit, and manage categories for surveys. Categories help to organize surveys and make it easier for users to navigate and filter surveys based on relevant topics or themes.

Key Features

  • Create New Category:
    • Clicking this button opens a form to create a new category. You will need to provide a Name and Description for the category.
    • Categories allow you to group surveys into specific topics, such as “Capacity Building,” “Employment,” “Education,” or any other relevant category.
  • Search and Filter:
    • The search bar allows administrators to quickly find categories by typing in keywords.
    • You can also use the filter icon to narrow down categories based on certain criteria, such as their creation date or other relevant filters.
  • Category Management (Actions):
    • Edit: Clicking on the pencil icon allows you to modify the name and description of an existing category.
    • Delete: The trash bin icon allows you to remove a category from the system, but be cautious when deleting categories, as this action cannot be undone.

Tips for Managing Categories

  • Strategic Category Naming: Ensure that category names are clear and concise. For instance, broad topics such as “Capacity Building” or “Health” allow for multiple related surveys to be grouped together, making navigation easier for users.
  • Use Descriptions Wisely: The description field should provide more context about the category, helping users understand its relevance. For example, for “Capacity Building,” you could write: “Surveys related to training, skills development, and organizational growth.”
  • Frequent Audits: Regularly review your categories to ensure they remain relevant and useful. Over time, you might find certain categories are underutilized, or new categories need to be added.

No, deleting a category will not delete the surveys associated with it. However, those surveys will no longer have that category assigned to them and may be harder to find without a category filter.

There is no set limit to the number of categories you can create, but it's recommended to keep the list organized and avoid redundant categories.

At the moment, surveys can only belong to one category. Choose the category that best aligns with the main topic of the survey.
